There’s probably no God.

(Warning: If you possess religious sensibilities and they are easily offended, I advise you to refrain from reading further. And especially if you think the following quote from Voltaire is a bunch of bullshit: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to death your right to say it.”)

“The Atheist Bus Campaign aims to place ‘peaceful and upbeat’ messages about atheism on transport media in the UK, in response to evangelical Christian advertising.”

It all started when comedy writer Ariane Sherine saw an advertisement on a London bus featuring the Bible quote, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find Faith on this Earth?”. On visiting the website mentioned in the ad, she found out how non-believers would face unimaginable torture at the end of their lives! Of course, this is a common damnation mentioned in most religions which strictly adhere to the carrot-and-stick policy to recruit and consolidate their memberships. If you belong to a different club, or if you are a complete non-believer you are bound to end up in some kind of penal colony where pain beyond your comprehension will be inflicted upon you!
Ariane decided to do something about it and wrote an article for the Guardian’s Cif (Comment is free) website, called Atheists – Gimme Five. At the end of her article, she mentioned:
[if all atheists reading this] contribute £5, it’s possible that we can fund a much-needed atheist London bus ad with the slogan: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and [enjoy] your life.”
This started the Atheist Bus Campaign which has so far raised more than £135000.

  1. Oh its not Richard Dawkins then?
A BBC report had first mentioned this few months back stating Richard Dawkin’s organisation was behind the campaign. An offended ( and moronic) bus driver had refused to drive the bus with this banner.
